OU running back Joe Mixon scheduled for arraignment on Monday

CLEVELAND COUNTY -  University of Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon is expected to turn himself into police on Monday for assault charges.  

Mixon is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. in Cleveland County court.

Mixon faces a misdemeanor count of acts resulting in gross injury.

Mixon is accused of punching a female OU student at a Norman restaurant last month.
 
OU Athletic Director Joe Castiglione said in a statement on Friday that the university will conduct an internal evaluation of Mixon.

His status with the football team will be decided at a later time.
