(AP) -- A 53-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the killing of an 8-year-old child last year while driving under the influence of synthetic cannabinoids and marijuana.

The Tahlequah Daily Press reports that Jennifer Jean Shriver is being held on more than $300,000 bond. Shriver was being sought on a Tulsa County warrant for second-degree murder, driving under the influence of intoxicants and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested this week in Tahlequah.

Authorities say Shriver was driving under the influence last October when the Ford Ranger she was driving crashed into a Chevrolet Impala.

Eight-year-old Alejandra Ruiz was killed.

Shriver said in an interview with KTUL that she's sorry and "did not do it on purpose."
