The Edmond Police Department said they're on the scene of a murder-suicide near Oak Tree National.
Police say they were called to a home in the 5500 block of Fairway Drive of the Highlands subdivision around 8:30 a.m. Monday to check welfare when either a man or woman living at the residence missed an appointment.
When Edmond police arrived they found a man and woman dead inside. At this point they won't say how they died, or who killed who, or the status of their relationship, only that it appears to be a murder-suicide and they were the only two people living inside of the house.
Edmond Police Department Public Information Officer Jennifer Monroe said the couple had no prior history with authorities.
"They only lived there about six to eight months. They were new to the neighborhood and not many neighbors knew them," Monroe said.
Edmond Police spent the afternoon gathering evidence and trying to piece together exactly what happened. Until family members are notified the names will not be released.
