Oklahoma City schools offers mobile immunization clinics

Posted: Updated:
Oklahoma City schools open classrooms again in just three weeks and OKCPS will offer immunization clinics to go at several schools in the metro.

For the first time, OKCPS, Oklahoma Caring Foundation, and Oklahoma City-County Health Department are teaming up to bring Caring Van clinics to select schools to promote immunizations.

“Students must have current immunizations to start school and we have thousands of children in the District who need updated vaccinations. In the past we have had students miss the start of school to get their needed shots; but thanks to the Caring Van this year we are being proactive and addressing the problem in a new way,” said Dr. Teri Bell, OKCPS Executive Director of Student Support Services.

The vans will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the dates at the locations below:

  • July 14th at John Marshall Mid-High School - 12201 N. Portland
  • July 15th at Douglass Mid-High – 900 Martin Luther King Blvd
  • July 16th at US Grant High School – 5016 S. Pennsylvania
  • July 17th at OK Centennial Mid-High School – 1301 NE 101st
  • July 21st at Star Spencer High School – 3001 N. Spencer Road, Spencer
  • July 22nd at Capitol Hill High School – 500 SW 36th
  • July 23rd at Northwest Classen High School – 2801 NW 27th
  • July 24th at Southeast High School -  5401 S. Shields Blvd

Immunizations will be available for anyone under 18 and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parents are encouraged to bring the most current immunization record but if not available the Caring Van staff will be able to locate it through records.
