Authorities fight blaze at Nichols Hills mansion

Posted: Updated:
NICHOLS HILLS - A fire engulfed a Nichols Hills mansion early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters say it was sparked when lightning struck the 10,000 sq ft mansion off Country Club Rd.

According to authorities, five children and two adults escaped around 4:30 a.m.

The four alarm fire was so severe, firefighters were forced to leave the home as well. Fortunately no one was hurt.

Because of the size of the mansion, it took firefighters a few hours to put out the fire.

The three-story mansion is estimated to be worth around $2.8 million and is said to be looking like a total loss.

Records indicate the house is owned by Frank Love of Loves County Store, but that information has not yet been verified.
