Posted: Updated:
Dashcam video shows a Texas police officer responding to a report of a woman lying on the railroad tracks as a train speeds toward her. Just as he arrives on scene, he scrambles from his car to take fast action.

Officer Ramon Morales arrived at the crossing in Richmond, Texas, around 1 a.m. Sunday. Just as he pulls up, the lights start flashing and the arms start to lower.

That's when Morales jumps out of the car. On the video, you can see him run onto the tracks. The train is thundering towards and the blowing the whistle.

He pulls the woman out of the way and into the lights from his cruiser car. As the train passes by, he holds the woman back so she can't run into the train.

The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Morales has been with the department for about ten months.
