Large home burning in far southeast OKC Tuesday morning

Posted: Updated:
Oklahoma City firefighters are investigating how a large home caught fire early Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out in the 4,000 square foot home around 5:25 a.m. It's located in a heavily wooded area near SE 149th & Choctaw Rd. just southeast of Lake Stanley Draper.

Crews say a neighbor originally called in the fire as a brush pile fire and it wasn't until they arrived on scene did they discover it was a home covered in flames.

Firefighters say the home is a total loss.

No other structures were damaged.

The homeowner was not inside when the fire broke out.
