Posted: Updated:
The Custer County Sheriff's Office is seeking an escapee Sunday.

Nicholas Todd Van Brunt, 36, was working as a trustee, picking up trash at the sheriff's office in Arapaho when he stole a car.  Someone who was at the sheriff's office left keys in the ignition of the car when it was taken around 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Authorities saw Van Brunt was last seen at the Weatherford WalMart around 1:15 p.m. Sunday. He was gone before law enforcement arrived.

Police believe Van Brunt may now be driving a blue 2008 Dodge mini van with the Oklahoma license plate 580GOQ. The van was stolen from WalMart around the time Van Brunt was seen.

Van Brunt may has family and friends in the Oklahoma City area but could be traveling to Canadian, TX.

Anyone with information should contact the Custer County Sheriff's Office at 580-323-1616 or the nearest law enforcement office.
