Oklahoma County Clerk Carolyn Caudill pleaded no contest to a DUI charge from last fall and has received probation.

Caudill was fined and given six months probation after pleading no contest to a DUI charge from last fall.

Police in Nichols Hills say they were called to a report of a driver that hit a parked vehicle on NW 79th Street between McKinley and Military around 8:40 Tuesday night. When officers arrived, they found a Mercedes parked in the yard at a home in the 7900 block of McKinley Ave.

Police say they could smell alcohol on Caudill and in her vehicle. They also report she had bloodshot and watery eyes and had difficulty standing steady or walking to police car.

She was arrested for DUI and refused to take a breathalyzer.

When they arrived at the Oklahoma County Jail, she told officers "You don't know what you did, you could've let me go home."

Caudill issued an apology a week after her arrest, in which she says she is honored to serve as the County Clerk and accepts that some of her life choices deserve the public's scrutiny. She said she "made a very big mistake acting completely out of character. Now I must learn from it and make sure it never happens again."
