One dead following Saturday collision in Norman

One person is dead following a collision in Norman Saturday afternoon.

According to Norman Police Department Lt. Brent Barbour, the collision occurred around 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 12th Ave. NE and Franklin Road.

Police say a red Dodge Ram pickup was traveling westbound when it failed to stop at a red light. The pickup then entered the intersection in front of a northbound maroon Dodge Ram pickup. The vehicles then collided.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, 26-year-old Matthew Turner, was treated and released for injuries at the Norman Regional Hospital.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, 24-year-old Jason Pritchett, was transported to Norman Regional Hospital where he was treated and released for injuries sustained during the crash.

A passenger in the northbound vehicle, 29-year-old Cory Ramsey, was also transported to OU Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

The collision still remains under investigation by Norman police.
