NE OKLAHOMA CITY -
It's the one year anniversary of the devastating tornado that ripped through Moore, Oklahoma on May 20th. We have heard the many stories of families and their struggles, but one perspective we have yet to see...are the ones of the pets that lost their homes and loved ones on the deadly day.
The book is being released nationwide on Amazon.com on May 20th, and will also be available at the Oklahoma humane Adoption Center (7500 N. Western Ave OKC, OK).
'Hope After the Storm' is a 60-page, hard-cover coffee table book that illustrates the stories of the hundreds of cats and dogs being reunited with their families at OK Humane’s disaster relief facilities.
The goal of the book project is to show the world that pets are important members of the family, and was a joint project between a local young professionals networking group called Ad2OKC and OK Humane.
The goal of the book project is to show the world that pets are important members of the family. We hope that the book will demonstrate the positive side of a disaster response and how pets bring joy in times of despair.
The book is also meant to encourage pet owners to remember to include their pets in their disaster response plans.
