Shocking: dad caught on camera kicking son down skateboard ramp

Posted: Updated:
A Florida father has been banned from a skate park, at least temporarily, after another skater caught him on camera kicking his six-year-old son down a skateboard ramp.

The incident was captured on an unknown date in at Kona Skatepark in Jacksonville, Fla. and posted to social media. Now, the Florida Department of Children and Families is looking into the incident.

The child, who is about 6-years-old, appears hesitant at the top of the ramp. Evidently, the father is upset that his son isn't quite willing to go down and kicks him over the edge.

According to ABC news, the boy was unharmed and continued skating. However, the park’s operator, Martin Ramos, warned the father not to come back “for a while.”

“Unfortunately parents get so enthusiastic about their kids and their abilities and sometimes they take it a little too far,” Ramos told ABC. “[The father] said he was just caught up in the moment, he seemed very remorseful, he certainly understands the gravity of the situation.”
