Thunder and Grizzlies go to overtime again

Posted: Updated:
The Memphis Grizzlies beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in overtime for the second straight game.  Thursday night's final score was 98-95 Grizzlies.  The two teams have developed a habit of playing overtime games.  Since 2011 the two teams have played five overtime games against each other with Memphis winning four of those.
Thursday's game didn't appear to be headed for an extra frame with Memphis leading by 17 points in the fourth quarter but Oklahoma City went on a 17-0 run with Memphis going over seven minutes without a score.  Russell Westbrook hit a three point basket at the top of the key and he was fouled which led to a four point play with 26.6 seconds left in regulation which sent the game to overtime tied at 85.
Memphis outscored OKC 13-10 in overtime with Mike Conley's three pointer with 3:18 left giving the Grizzlies the lead.
Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook each had 30 points but neither shot a great percentage with Durant hitting 10-27 and Westbrook going 9-26.  But each fueled the comeback with clutch shooting and playmaking.  As a team the Thunder only hit 5-28 from three point range.
Tony Allen gave Memphis 16 points off the bench while Beno Udrih added 12 points.
Game four is Saturday night in Memphis at 8:30.
