Edmond Police investigates seven home burglaries on Monday

Posted: Updated:
Police say they're searching for the person responsible for the burglaries of seven different homes across Edmond on Monday.

According to police, the suspect kicked in the door of seven homes and stole only coins from the homes. Police say it appears only coins were targeted in the burglaries because other valuables were left untouched.

Three of the burglaries were reported west of Santa Fe Ave between Danforth and Edmond Roads. The other four burglaries took place just east of Broadway between 2nd and 15th Streets.

Of the seven homes broken into, police say there was nothing stolen from three of them, the report is still pending for two, and the remaining two homes had a total of $500 in coins and change reported stolen.

In one of the reported burglaries, a woman and her young son were inside the home. They were able to run out and call 911.

Edmond Police describe the suspect as a black man, wearing gym shorts and a white t-shirt. They say he is between 16 and 19 years old and was driving an older model white sedan. Anyone with information about the crimes is urged to contact Edmond Police.
