Posted: Updated:
House lawmakers in Louisiana are expected to vote this week on a bill that would make the Holy Bible the official state book.

The bill moved to the House following The House Municipal, Parochial, and Cultural Affairs voting 8-5 to make the Holy Bible the official book of Louisiana.

HB 503 was authored by Rep. Thomas Carmody and would make the Holy Bible, published by Johanes Prevel, which is the oldest edition of the Good Book in the Lousiana State Museum system.
