Teacher's brilliant response to student's crass note goes viral

Posted: Updated:

The end is near for high school seniors and one decided to tell the English IV teacher exactly what they thought about the class and the school year. Unfortunately, it was full of errors. Now, the note and the teacher's response has gone viral.

The unnamed senior typed the note to the English IV teacher and posted it to the door. When the teacher spotted it, he or she did what English teacher's do: edited it with a red pen.

The letter was riddled with grammatical errors and profanity so the teacher took the student to task on them all and then posted it to reddit. The letter claims to be written by a senior speaking for every student at McKinley, however there are McKinley Schools across the country and the city and location is not indicated in the post.

Read the note and the teacher's edits yourself by clicking on the picture. The teacher wrapped up the critiques with a parting message to the soon-to-be graduate: "Please use your education appropriately. Proofreading takes five minutes & keeps you from looking stupid."
