A southeast Oklahoma City grandpa is hailed a hero after rescuing 7 other members of his family from their burning mobile home.

The fire broke out around 6:00 a.m. near SE 44th & Hiwassee Rd.

Firefighters say the grandpa rescued 3 other adults and four children from the home and then called 911 from a neighbor's home.

Grandpa Dusty Treaster says he was laying in bed when two of his grandkids came running into his bedroom saying their room was on fire.

Treaster says "I guess the ceiling fan had shorted out and caught on fire and it was dripping down on their bed."

No injuries are reported, but a dog and cat are still unaccounted for.
