OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City police are searching for a suspect after a shooting at a motel in Southwest OKC.

Police got the call at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Green Carpet Inn near MacArthur and I-40.

When they arrived they found a man shot in the back.

Officers say there was some sort of altercation between two men and that's when the suspect shot the victim in the back.

OKCPD Lt. Rob Strecker says, "The victim did walk where it occurred to the front lobby and 911 was called from there."

The victim did go to the hospital and is talking with police.

Police are investigating whether the shooting happened in the parking lot or in one of the motel rooms.

Police do not know if the victim or suspect were guests at the motel.

None of the guests at the motel had to be evacuated.
