OKCPS weather cancellation policy

OKCPS weather cancellation policy

OKLAHOMA CITY -

OKCPS students will have school today. This decision came from the district's updated cold weather procedures plan.

Oklahoma City Public School officials are changing the weather cancellation policy to now include extremely cold temperatures. Interim Superintendent Dave Lopez made the announcement at a board meeting Tuesday night.

On days where extreme cold is expected, like today, officials will decide by 5:25 in the morning whether to cancel class. The district says they will close school if the actual temperature is 10 degrees or below or the wind chill is 5 degrees or below.

OKCPS reminds families and students to dress for winter weather today.
