OSU gets first crack at KU

When the Big 12 Men's basketball season started Oklahoma State and Kansas were the picks to win the conference.  It's early but so far nothing has changed that perception, although the league appears to be among the toughest if not the toughest in the country.

But the Jayhawks and Cowboys are where we thought they'd be which is at the top of the standings with Kansas undefeated at 3-0, while OSU and Kansas State are next at 3-1.

THe Cowboys and Jayhawks play Saturday in Lawrence for the first of at least two meetings.  Kansas is led by future NBA lottery picks in Andrew Wiggins, Joel Embiid and Wayne Selden.  Wiggins and Embiid are definite lottery picks if they chose to leave after the season and Selden at least a first rounder if not lottery bound as well.

The Cowboys have there own NBA talent in lottery pick to be Marcus Smart along with likely first round pick Markel Brown not to mention LeBryan Nash.  The main difference between the two teams is KU is led by freshmen while the Cowboys have upperclassmen like Brown, a senior, and Smart who is a sophomore and Nash a junior.

"We have a lot of experience on them and we have to use it to our ability," said Markel Brown.  Brown added, "We've got vets here they know how to play in that atmosphere."

Saturday's game will start at 3:00.  Kansas will play in Stillwater on March 1st.
