Oklahoma City Police say a man is in custody after he admitted to having an explosive device in his parked vehicle at a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex.

According to Captain Dexter Nelson, police were called to the 1200 block of W. Hefner Road after a man was allegedly exposing himself to female tenants.

Upon arrival, police took the suspect in to custody where he later said he had an explosive device in his vehicle. The bomb squad was called to investigate and retrieve the device.

The man was charged with possession of an explosive device. Authorities have not released the suspect's name

Crews closed off entrances to the apartment as the device was investigated. Police urged drivers making the commute home to stay off Hefner between Pennsylvania and Western.

The complex was evacuated as police investigated the incident. Residents were allowed back into their homes later in the evening.
