7-year-old Lilly Ross helped kick off new construction at the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.

"I broke down a wall because we're going to make the building bigger," said Lilly.

The museum is adding 7-million dollars in renovations hoping to keep its story alive for younger generations like Lilly.

"A mean person broke the building down and many people died so they just want to remember it."

The museum is adding a Gallery of Honor representing all 168 lives lost in the bombing.

"They'll be a picture of each person and a very special artifact that the families picked out," said  Susan Winchester , incoming chairman of the Oklahoma City Memorial Foundation.

Winchester said plans for the gallery have been in the works for nearly two years. The room will have interactive technology to tell the story of each person who died in the attack.

"As long as the memories are there the people are still with us," Winchester said.

"We really just want this museum to last long into the future in Oklahoma City," said Lilly's dad, Bob, a CEO at Inasmuch Foundation. The  company donated 3 point five million dollars to the project.

"I think it's really important for the next generation to understand what happened here so we never forget," said Bob.

"I just want to remember the kids that died at that time," Lilly said. She hung a teddy bear on the memorial fence in their honor.

The museum is still open during construction. Officials hope to have renovations done by the 20th anniversary in April.
