Kevin Durant named Western Conference Player of the Month for December

Oklahoma City Thunder all-star Kevin Durant has been named the Kia Western Conference Player of the Month for December.

Durant led the Thunder to a 14-3 overall record and an 8-1 road record, which are both NBA bests for December.

Durant averaged 29.4 points-per-game as well as 9 rebounds per game and 4.5 assists per game.

During December, Durant recorded 20 or more points in 15 games and eclipsed the 30 point mark in 10 games.

Durant also was honored as the Kia Western Conference Player of the Month for October/November.

    The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Detroit Pistons 112-111 to secure the second seed in the Western Conference Playoffs.
    The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Detroit Pistons 112-111 to secure the second seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. It wasn't a pretty game for the Thunder but the bottom line is they got the win with Kevin Durant scoring a layup with :16 seconds left to give OKC the final victory margin.

    The Oklahoma City Thunder were beaten by the New Orleans Pelicans 101-89 at Smoothie King Arena. The loss kept the Thunder from clinching the second seed in the Western Conference playoff picture.

    Tyreke Evans poured in 41 points to lead the Pelicans, who had lost ten straight games to the Thunder. Oklahoma City was led by Serge Ibaka, who scored 22 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and dished out five assists. Kevin Durant added 25 points in a losing effort.
