Oklahoma beats Alabama in Sugar Bowl

Posted: Updated:

They may not have been the favorite... But the OU Sooners are waking up in the big easy this morning Sugar Bowl champions!

Facing the two time defending National Champs Alabama, the Sooners played probably their best game of the season. OU was a two touchdown underdog heading into the game.

After an early interception, red shirt freshman quarterback Trevor Knight went on to throw an OU bowl record four touchdowns in route to a 45 to 31 win.

After the win... Sugar bowl MVP Knight said a strong start helped his game.

OU forced five total touchdowns in the game, including two interceptions of Heisman finalist AJ McCarron and a sack, forced fumble, and scoop and score that sealed the victory.

After the game, as Bob Stoops was being interviewed by ESPN, the team tried joining their coach on the set. But football players aren't exactly lightweights. Watch what happened when they piled on in the video above.
