A judge has ordered a representative convicted of bribery to spend a year in prison and pay a $5,000 fine.
The judge handed down the sentence Friday after Terrill was convicted of bribery in October. Prosecutors successfully argued that he offered former State Senator Debbie Leftwich a high paying job, if she did not run for reelection. However, the two former lawmakers have maintained their innocence.
The sentence was the recommended one that jurors handed down during his conviction.
Randy Terrill told FOX 25's Danielle Dupuy "I think this is more of a formality. I think the rest of the show is going to be at the Court of Criminal Appeals."
