OU and OSU players fill up All Big 12 Teams

A total of 8 players from Oklahoma schools land on the All Big 12 Coaches first team for the 2013 football season.  The Cowboys and Sooners each have 4 honorees.  For Oklahoma State, Senior offensive lineman Parker Graham, senior defensive tackle Calvin Barnett, senior linebacker Shaun Lewis and senior cornerback Justin Gilbert make the squad.  For Barnett it is the second consecutive year he makes the first team.

Bob Stoops Oklahoma Sooners are paced by Offensive players Gabe Ikard and Tre Millard.  Ikard, a senior from McGuinness High School in Oklahoma City helped lead OU to the 2nd best rushing attack in the Big 12 with an average of 235.8 yards per game.  Millard, a senior from Columbia, Missouri is a fullback and team captain, who's season ended in the Texas Tech game after he suffered a torn ACL.  Also on the first team from OU, defensive players Charles Tapper, a Sophomore defensive end, and cornerback Aaron Colvin.

    Eddie Sutton has come up for inclusion to the Basketball Hall of Fame four times. And four times he has been denied the vote.
    Eddie Sutton has come up for inclusion to the Basketball Hall of Fame four times. And four times he has been denied the vote. Monday was the latest snub that the former college coach at Creighton, Arkansas, Kentucky and Oklahoma State has had to endure.

    Among those receiving the vote are Nolan Richardson, who like Sutton counts Arkansas as one of his coaching stops.

    Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy confirmed at the Cowboys Orange Blitz that quarterback Daxx Garman did suffer an injury at Friday's practice but he did not say how bad the injury is.

Gundy says they'll know more about the injury Monday. Several reports say Garman had to be carted off the field after suffering a knee injury.

    The Cowboys took the lead in the second inning on two solo home runs. The first by Gage Green and the second was hit by Tim Arakawa.

    Oklahoma guard Je'Lon Hornbeak is transferring to another school. Hornbeak played in 61 games his first two season's at Oklahoma and he started 29 as a freshmen.
    Oklahoma guard Je'Lon Hornbeak is transferring to another school. Hornbeak played in 61 games his first two season's at Oklahoma and he started 29 as a freshmen. He suffered a foot injury at the beginning of this season and got off to a slow start but his play improved toward the end of the season and he became a key reserve off the bench.

    As Oklahoma winds down spring practice its evident that they expect their defense to be pretty good.

     
    As Oklahoma winds down spring practice its evident that they expect their defense to be pretty good. A year ago the Sooners defensive line was considered a question mark during spring workouts but today head coach Bob Stoops considers it a strength with experience and depth.

    Defensive end Geneo Grissom, a star in the Sugar Bowl, is getting time at linebacker while linebacker Eric Striker is getting work at safety.

    James Harden led Houston with 39 points as Houston got its 50th win against 25 loses. Oklahoma City was led by Kevin Durant's 28 points. Durant extended his 25 or more points streak to 40.
