OKLAHOMA CITY -

Police say one person is dead and police are investigating the scene in SW Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow tells FOX 25 a car collided with a semi-truck just before 8:00 AM Tuesday. Wardlow says the accident happened in the 1000 block of S. Portland.

According to Sgt. Wardlow, a semi veered into the oncoming lane of traffic and crashed into a car. The accident killed a passenger in the car while the driver was uninjured. The driver of the semi was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Gregory Loren.

At the time of the accident, dense fog was still hanging over Oklahoma City. Wardlow says that may be to blame.

Northbound traffic on Portland was stopped as police investigated the scene. By 10:00 AM, the roadway was reopened.
