Accident leaves 3 dead in Garfield County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reports three people dead in an accident in Garfield County.

The accident occurred Friday night shortly after 8:15 p.m. just south of the town of Bison on U. S. Highway 81.

The three people were killed when the driver of a 2013 Hyundai traveling northbound crossed over into the southbound lanes and hit head-on a 2013 Chevrolet, driven by Antonio Medina, Jr., 23, of Enid. OHP has not released any other names pending the notification of relatives.

The two occupants of the Hyundai and Medina were pinned in their vehicles for an unknown amount of time.

Highway 81 was closed for more than seven hours for the investigation.
