Puppy and baby share special bond and daily nap

Puppy and baby share special bond and daily nap

Posted: Updated:

A California mom's pictures of her young son napping with the family puppy have been the rage online recently. But the picture wasn't a once-in-a-lifetime moment: mom says it always happens.

Millions of people have seen the picture Jessica Shyba posted. Her baby, Beau, and her dog, Theo, taking their afternoon nap together.

Jessica began posting photos of the two on her blog. She says after they adopted the puppy, he would whine regularly. But they found putting him with Beau, comforted both of them.

So she started taking pictures and they spread like crazy.

Her story has been shared on national television and she says it's because her story is opposite to what everyone sees on the news.

"I think there's so much bad news in the world all the time; everyday that's all we see," Jessica said. "It's sweet and it's innocent and it's lovely and I think people appreciate it....and I appreciate it."

A degenerative eye disease slowly robbed Roger Pontz of his vision.

Diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa as a teenager, Pontz has been almost completely blind for years. Now, thanks to a high-tech procedure that involved the surgical implantation of a "bionic eye," he's regained enough of his eyesight to catch small glimpses of his wife, grandson and cat.
