A Midwest City High School teacher and football has resigned his position from the school following accusations he inappropriately touched a 16-year-old student.
The school told FOX 25 Thursday that 40-year-old Dewayne Williams resigned for 'personal reasons' effective December 20.
The teacher and coach is accused of groping a 16-year-old student. According to the student, the incident happened October 17 when she says she stopped by his classroom and he gave her a hug and slapped her on the behind.
The student claims he closed the door and the blinds of the classroom, pulled her onto his lab and rubbed the inside of her thigh. The student also claims Williams put his hand in her shirt and pulled her pants away from her body while looking at her underwear and made lewd comments.
The school's police officer reports Williams admitted to the hug and that he had talked with the girl for a few minutes. He then said he gave her a piece of gum and she left. After that, he told the officer he ate lunch and took a nap. He said he had known the girl for a couple years and it was normal to hug her.
Williams has been on administrative leave since October 18 and will remain on leave until his resignation is effective. The school said due to the confidential nature of personnel information they cannot share any additional information.
Williams has not been arrested or charged as of Thursday afternoon.
