MIDWEST CITY -

Police in Midwest City say they've arrested a woman for shooting a man at a Midwest City home Wednesday morning.

Police say they received a 911 call from a woman at a 7-Eleven just a few blocks from the home. The woman told the operator "You might want to send an ambulance to [the house], I just shot a gentleman."

Police say when they responded to the crime scene and found a door ajar. They entered the home and found a middle-aged man inside the home dead from a gunshot wound.

"Nothing's ever happened like this before," said Herman Nelson, who lives next door to the home where the shooting happened.

Just after 3:30 PM, police arrested the woman, 49-year-old Dianna Sanders for murder in the first degree.

Police say she lived with the victim who they have identified as 54-year-old Stephen Dollarhide.

Midwest City Police say the shooting appears to be domestic related.

"Never saw them fight, never saw them get upset with each other," said Nelson.

Nelson says Dollarhide has been his next door neighbor for 20-years, and Sanders had only lived with Dollarhide for a few months.  Nelson described Dollarhide and Sanders as good neighbors.

"Both of them went to church with us about two weeks ago," he recalled.

Walk up to the house, and you'll notice a placard with the Ten Commandments displayed next to home's front door, but many neighbors know after this incident that sometimes people don't always practice what they preach.

"You just never know what goes on behind closed doors," said Margaret Wilkinson, another neighbor.

Sanders is being held in the Midwest City Police Department jail and will be transferred to the Oklahoma County Jail.

“Seeing a broken violin is nothing new to me,” Kyle Dillingham said turning to the shelf of those violins waiting for repair. “They’re all over the place, this is a pretty bad break,” he said pulling out a violin with gaping hole in its shell.  Sometimes a ‘bad break’ is just that for the instrument. Those violins where the repair cost exceeds the replacement value are deemed ‘broken beyond repair.’
