InfantSEE Week

InfantSEE Week

Posted: Updated:
OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians (OAOP) has named October 21-25  as InfantSEE Week.

InfantSEE is a public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness to improve a child's quality of life.

Optometric physicians have played a leading role in this program since it began back in 2005 by providing infant comprehensive eye exams at no cost year round.

And the goal of InfantSEE Week is to bring heightened awareness of the program to the public and help motivate parents to take advantage of the free exams to better ensure eye wellness in infants.

Vision disorders are the fourth most common disability in the United States and the most prevalent handicapping condition during childhood.

In fact, one in every 10 children is at risk for undiagnosed eye and vision problems.

There are more than 600 members of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians that provide the free exams.

To locate a participating InfantSEE Doctor of Optometry, call (405) 524-1075, 1-800-375-2020 or you can click here to find a list and more information about the program.
