The Oklahoma City Police Department is investigating what led a man to take his own life Monday.

Police were originally called to the home in the 500 block of SE 28th Street around 11:30 AM Monday to a report of shots fired. Officers began staging around the residence but had to wait for a warrant before they could enter.

The bomb squad and tactical teams have both been called to the scene.

The police presence caused some roads to be closed. The 500 block of SE 28th is shut down, as is Durland between SE 29th and SE 25th and SE 28th Street.

Wheeler Elementary School is just a few blocks north of the scene. According to Oklahoma City Public Schools, they school dismissed as usual but notified parents of children that usually walk home that they need to be picked up.

Just after 4:30, police informed FOX 25 that the man inside the home shot himself.
