OU head football coach Bob Stoops has confirmed that senior linebacker Corey Nelson will undergo surgery to repair a partially torn pectoral muscle.

Nelson suffered the injury in OU's win over TCU Saturday. Stoops said Nelson will undergo surgery on Tuesday. The surgery will likely cause Nelson to miss the remainder of the season.

Nelson is the 2013 defensive captain for the Sooners and has 27 tackles to go along with one interception for a touchdown and a sack through OU's first five games this season.
