PETA has issued a statement calling for a full investigation of the G.W. Interactive Zoological Park after an employee was injured in a tiger attack Saturday.

A female employee was attacked after she stuck her arm through a tiger's cage. The owner of the business, Joe Schreibvogel, says the employee violated protocol by placing her arm inside the cage.

According to PETA, the park has violated hundreds of violations of the Animal Welfare Act.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture currently has two investigations open on the park.

The Associated Press is reporting the tiger involved in the attack was moved from his enclosure into quarantine reserved for aggressive animals.

Schreibvogel says the tiger will remain in the quarantine for 10 days while a veterinarian examines whether it is rabid.

The female employee underwent surgery Saturday to save her arm and is planned for more surgery Monday.
