OKLAHOMA CITY -

Meridian Avenue between SW 29th Street and Airport Road will close to thru traffic this weekend beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, remaining closed until 5 p.m., Monday, October 7. Crews will be removing the railroad tracks near Newcastle Road and replacing them with pavement. 

Airport Road will be open and drivers will be able to exit southbound to the airport.  Visitors heading to the airport via Meridian Avenue from Interstate 40 or from businesses along Meridian Avenue will need to use an alternate route such as MacArthur Boulevard or Portland Avenue. 

Drivers and travelers are encouraged to allow extra travel time to avoid traffic issues and ensure they will not miss their flights.
