Researchers claim to have video proof of bigfoot

Posted: Updated:

A group of Bigfoot enthusiasts have showed some never-before-seen video that they say proves Bigfoot is real.

They announced on Tuesday they've started a group called the Sasquatch Genome Project and say it's very serious.

There have been sightings of bigfoot, aka Sasquatch, across the country, including Oklahoma. Now the members of the Sasquatch Genome Project say they're on a mission to prove the story is fact.

During a news conference Tuesday, they played video clips claiming to be Sasquatch. The first clip claims to be a juvenile human-like species walking the woods. A second clip is an older female believed to be over six feet tall. Those two clips were shot at night, using night-vision filters on cameras.

The third clip was shot during the day and shows what they say is Sasquatch caught sleeping and was shot in 2005 in Kentucky.

Controversy and doubt about the existence of Sasquatch isn't stopping Dennis Pfohl, the Project Manager.

"We've all had experiences that have changed our lives," Pfohl said. "I mean, literally shook the foundations of what we believe in. And that came through Adrian's visual sightings and Richard's visual sightings. And me and my family, we came across a large footprint in the Colorado mountains. So things like that shook your reality, shake your world. And you say, well, there's gotta be more to the subject than just a myth."

The group hopes the video will prove bigfoot/Sasquatch is not just a legend but is, indeed, real. They say they'll continue to collect evidence and videos and plan to release a documentary at a later date.
