OKLAHOMA CITY -

A family in northwest Oklahoma City had just finished dinner Friday night when they heard a smash. So the homeowner sprang to action, punching and holding the suspected burglar until police arrived.

Oklahoma City Police say they were called to a home in the 2300 block of NW 20th Street Friday night around 9:00 PM. Police say the homeowner reported he had just finished dinner with his wife and kids when he heard a window shatter.

The man said he went to investigate and found a man he believed to be drunk and holding a wooden table leg. Police say the man was later identified as 64-year-old William Dease.

The homeowner told Dease that the police were coming and said that's when Dease confronted him. The homeowner turned the tables on him and punched him. He then held Dease until police arrived and arrested him for burglary and public drunkenness.
