EDMOND -

A forgotten lunch box sparks a scare near Edmond North High School as police investigate what they believed to be a suspicious package.

Just before 10:00 AM, an Edmond officer spotted what he determined to be a suspicious package in a drainage ditch near the school. The bomb squad has arrived on scene to investigate.

Around 10:15, officials gave the all clear and told FOX 25 news crews on the scene that the item was a lunch box.

The package is located on the east side near Thomas Drive and police have closed that road as they investigate the item.

According to Edmond Public Schools, the school was locked down as police investigated. All students are in a pre-scheduled assembly in the gym on the far west side of the school.
