Oklahoma State President responds to Sports Illustrated reports

Oklahoma State President responds to Sports Illustrated reports

Posted: Updated:

After four reports of misconduct by the Oklahoma State football program, the school's president has released a video statement in response to the accusations made by Sports Illustrated.

In the above video, OSU President Burns Hargis said the past few days have been difficult and the stories that have been reported by Sports Illustrated are disturbing and it will require a thorough investigation by the university.

Since the first story was released, claims of reporter bias have been made but Hargis says that doesn't matter.

"Whether the reporting was fair or credible is not the issue. The issue is the substance of the accusations. It is my responsibly as OSU president to assure the review is fair, comprehensive, and thorough," Hargis said.

Sports Illustrated released part one of a five-part investigation into alleged misconduct by the university on Tuesday.

Several former players including Brandon Weeden have come out and said they don't believe the reports. Others have called the reports a "lie". Burns says he's inspired by those athletes responding.

Back in 2006, Oklahoma became the last state to legalize tattoo parlors, but teens are still not allowed to get inked. That's not stopping many young people, sometimes finding themselves in dangerous situations simply because they can't wait a few months or years to get tattooed legally.

A degenerative eye disease slowly robbed Roger Pontz of his vision.

Diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa as a teenager, Pontz has been almost completely blind for years. Now, thanks to a high-tech procedure that involved the surgical implantation of a "bionic eye," he's regained enough of his eyesight to catch small glimpses of his wife, grandson and cat.
