OU's Gabe Lynn was named defensive Big 12 Player of the Week following the Sooners' 16-7 victory over West Virginia
Both Oklahoma universities came out on top this weekend and both have players recognized as the top players on both sides of the ball.
Oklahoma State quarterback J.W. Walsh was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors after hi record-setting day in San Antonio. Walsh completed 24 of 27 passes for 326 yards and 4 TDs. His 88.9 completion percentage set a record for OSu for a single game.
Meanwhile in Norman, Oklahoma Sooner safety Gabe Lynn was named the defensive Player of the Week after his impressive game against West Virginia. Lynn finished the game with three tackles, a fumble recovery, and an interception.
The Sooners have allowed just seven points through two games, tying for fourth in the nation among FBS programs.
This is Walsh's first Player of the Week honor and the first OSu player to get recognition since Josh Stewart won it last year following the win over West Virginia.
Lynn is the first Oklahoma defensive player to earn the weekly award since Ronnell Lewis in 2011.
