DUNCAN -

A gag order has been issued in the case against three teens accused of gunning down an Australian baseball player.

Judge Jerry Herberger issued the gag order Tuesday, not long after the state medical examiner released autopsy results that showed Christopher Lane died from a single gunshot wound that pierced his ribs, lungs, and two arteries.

The gag order prevents lawyers from either side or involved persons from discussing the case with media or in public.

The 22-year-old Australian native was shot and killed while out for a jog on Friday, August 15 in Duncan. Lane was in Oklahoma to play baseball for East Central University in Ada.

Police Chief Danny Ford has said the three teens who are responsible for his murder shot him because they were bored.

15-year-old James Edwards and 16-year-old Chancey Luna were both formally charged with first degree murder on August 20, they'll be in back in court on October 16.

A third teen, 17-year-old Michael Jones, is being charged with use of a vehicle while a weapon was being discharged and accessory after the fact to first degree murder. Jones is being treated as an adult, but could be considered a youthful offender or juvenile per his conviction. His preliminary hearing is set for October 2.
