OKLAHOMA CITY -

Two people have been sent to the hospital following a robbery and officer-involved shooting in southwest Oklahoma City Monday evening.

According to police, officers were responding to a stabbing in the area of SW 44th and S. May Ave. around 6 p.m. this evening. Just after 8 p.m. officers heard gun shots in their vicinity and responded.

Officers observed a man shooting at a vehicle that was fleeing the area. Officers shot the man who was firing at the vehicle and began pursuing the fleeing vehicle.

The vehicle crashed near the area of SW 44th St. and S. Drexel Ave where two suspects were apprehended.

Following an investigation police learned the man who was shooting at the vehicle was the owner of a liquor store at SW 44th and S. May Ave. The store owner was firing at two suspects who had robbed his store.

The store owner and one of the suspects were taken to a local hospital in critical condition. It is unclear if the suspect was shot by the store owner or police. The other suspect was treated at the scene and arrested.
