Watch: Tornado Relief Town Hall Meeting

Posted: Updated:

Almost two months to the day when the first tornado hit, FOX 25 was proud to host a tornado relief town hall meeting to give victims a chance to have their voices heard.

Insurance Commissioner John Doak and Moore Mayor Glenn Lewis were just two of the five-person panel. El Reno, Bethel Acres, and Shawnee leaders were also in attendance, ready to answer any questions.

One of the victims of the Moore tornado was Kyle Davis. The boy was killed along with 6 other in Plaza Towers Elementary. On Thursday, his family was just one of those impacted that stood up and talked about that day and moving forward.

Thursday's Town Hall was also a chance for KOKH FOX 25 and Sinclair Broadcast Group to give back. Thanks to the generous donations of our viewers, we donated over $220,000 to Oklahoma Charities. The money was raised during a fundraiser that included a match of $50,000 by Sinclair Broadcast Group. A check for more than 44-thousand dollars was given to each of these groups: Feed the Children, Shelter Oklahoma Schools, The Salvation Army of Oklahoma City, and Tulsa Community Foundation.
