Oklahoma State Police confirm one person is dead after being hit by a semi truck in south Oklahoma City.

Officials were called to the eastbound I240 and Douglas just before 5:00 Thursday evening to a report of a semi truck hitting a pedestrian. Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokeswoman Betsy Randolph confirms with FOX 25 that the person hit by the semi was killed.

The eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed as officials investigated the accident. By 6:45 Thursday night, the interstate was reopened.

According to Randolph, a motorist had broken down and was pulled off to the side of the road. She said the man ran across the interstate when he was hit by the truck.
