"Santa" arrested for sexual crimes against children

Metro schools "Santa" arrested for sexual crimes against children

Posted: Updated:

The OSBI announced it has a man who commonly plays Santa Claus and coaches co-ed baseball teams in custody for lewd act proposals to a child.

Wiley Davis, Jr., 49, was arrested Thursday by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. The Warr Acres man was arrested after he responded to a Craigslist ad that he believed was posted by a 15-year-old girl. Investigators say Davis made multiple sexual and lewd proposals and even referred to himself as "Santa" in his response.

Davis and the "teenager" were to meet at a convenience store at Waterloo and Coltrane. OSBI says once Davis pulled up and got out of his vehicle, undercover agents noticed Davis was carrying a loaded pistol and a private investigator badge. He was arrested for lewd acts proposals to a child under 16, violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act, and possession of a firearm while committing of a felony.

Davis is paid by several Oklahoma City metro schools to play Santa Claus around the holidays. He also is a coach for a co-ed baseball team for kids six years and younger.

“Seeing a broken violin is nothing new to me,” Kyle Dillingham said turning to the shelf of those violins waiting for repair. “They’re all over the place, this is a pretty bad break,” he said pulling out a violin with gaping hole in its shell.  Sometimes a ‘bad break’ is just that for the instrument. Those violins where the repair cost exceeds the replacement value are deemed ‘broken beyond repair.’

Medical mistakes are now the third most common cause of death in the U.S., ahead of breast cancer, AIDS, even car crashes. And a big part of that number comes from mix ups at the pharmacy. It's a mistake that happens more frequently that you might think.
