Judge Denies Request to Drop Manslaughter Charges Against Officer

Posted: Updated:

The attorney for an officer charged with manslaughter is speaking out.

The attorney for Officer Randy Harrison is arguing the case should be dismissed.

Investigators say Harrison shot Dane Scott Junior last year  following a chase because Scott had a gun. The medical examiner determined Scott was shot in the back.

Prosecutors charged Harrison with manslaughter. Now Harrison's attorney, Doug Friesen is arguing in court that his client's case should be dismissed. He says the Oklahoma statute for manslaughter is unconstitutional for law enforcement officers.

Randy Harrison's jury trial is scheduled to begin on April 8th.
