Bill Young - Morning Anchor
Bill Young is co-anchor for FOX25 Morning News and Good Day Oklahoma. Working at FOX25 is a chance for Bill to return to his adopted home of Oklahoma City and to the same station where he began his broadcasting career.
Bill's first experience at FOX25 was as an intern. That quickly lead to a job offer as a fill-in reporter, a position he began while in his senior year at Oklahoma City University.
Bill traveled Texas for the better part of a decade working as morning anchor at KWTX-TV in Waco, and then at KFOX-TV in El Paso.
During that time, Bill earned recognition for his work both on-air and away from work. He was part of a news team in El Paso to be nominated for a Lone Star Emmy Award, and was the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award for the Central Texas chapter of the American Cancer Society. Bill also earned recognition from the Texas Association of School Boards for his work in positively promoting public education through his reporting.
A native of Pennsylvania, Bill began his career in journalism working as a print reporter for a group of small newspapers near his hometown of Pittsburgh.
Bill says returning to Oklahoma City is a dream come true. Since leaving Oklahoma, my plan has always been to return. Being able to work on a shift that I love, live in a city that I love, and work for a station that personally means so much to me is beyond exciting. This is the station where I learned how to be a TV reporter, learned how to tell someone's story, and really connect with people.
Away from work, Bill is a fan of anything and everything automotive. From blogs to magazines, if it has to do with cars, Bill wants to know about it. Bill is also an avid fan of his hometown team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Bill is excited to re-connect with old friends and make lots of new ones now that he is back in the Metro. He is always up to hear about a great restaurant, a cool new store, or an exciting event happening somewhere in Oklahoma City.
