This is Storm Watch Forecaster Greg Whitworth...

A weak summer cool front has moved through northwest Oklahoma and will slowly drop south as the day goes along. Scattered thunderstorms have developed along the front at times. The front looks like it will stall out and therefore not much if any cooling with it in central and southern Oklahoma. Ahead of the front in southern and parts of central Oklahoma (mainly south of I-40), temperatures will skyrocket into the upper 90s to near 100. Northern Oklahoma may see a little relief from the heat today. A stronger front might arrive Wednesday of next week but that's a long way off. We are also watching the tropics as Gustav heads toward the gulf coast and could land anywhere from Texas to Louisiana. The holiday weekend looks hot with isolated t-storms possible.

Have a great day! -Greg
