Suspect caught in series of Stillwater robberies
May 23, 2013 07:46 GMT
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Police in Stillwater say they believe a suspect in custody is responsible for a series of store robberies that began in January.
Police Capt. Randy Dickerson said Tuesday that 24-year-old Jackson Pascal Rwezaula is held on complaints for two of the robberies.
The Stillwater News-Press reports (http://is.gd/GLCxxC ) Rwezaula (weh-zahl-uh) refuses to speak to investigators.
Dickerson said the robberies confounded police for months, to the point that the investigation became personal.
Officials say the suspect's face showed up clearly in a security image from one of the robberies and a tipster gave Rwezaula's name.
Police say they recovered disguises and other evidence allegedly linking Rwezaula to the crimes.
